Why Did We Choose Custom Wedding Rings

This week has been filled with bridal activities – to almost the point of overload.

Why? We have the Syracuse Wedding Bridal show coming up on Sunday May 7 at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.

And in preparation for the show, I have been creating emails specifically geared towards those engaged couples who are planning their weddings.

So this week, I took some time and reflected on our own wedding ring story —

Why did we choose custom wedding rings, long before we were even jewelers?

First off was definitely quality.

When we were working corporate jobs, cutting costs and quality were everyday themes.

In fact, just the way engineers design bridges for the maximum strength with the least amount of support and materials, that is the exact same way that jewelry is made today.

Except, bridges don’t get resized over time…rings do.

So, when you take rings that were designed for a specific size and try to expand and contract them, stones fall out, metal weakens, and it goes downhill from there.

But, if you go back to the old ways of jewelry manufacturing – pieces that have robust structure and abundance of materials, when you expand and contract them, they hold up a lot better and feel better.

And our second reason for going custom – we wanted to incorporate our style into our pieces.

These were rings that we would be wearing almost all the time and why would we want someone else’s ideas and style to be on our hand? We wanted our rings to reflect who we were, our love for each other, and the fact that we are individuals with our own ideas and preferences.

So, long before we were jewelers, our rings were custom made by a local jeweler.

And now, fast forward, we are paying it forward to help other co-design design their dream jewelry pieces and get a behind the scenes look at how their pieces were made through a personalized video.

So, if you know anyone getting engaged, or if you have a milestone anniversary approaching, feel free to reach out to us!
